Privacy Policy

Clear Horizons Auto Solutions (“Clear Horizons,” “we,” “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, protect and retain personal information when you use our website, submit a vehicle-financing application, or otherwise communicate with us.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect information such as your name, date of birth, email address, telephone number, address and residence information; employment, income and housing information; vehicle preferences, down-payment and trade-in information; information you provide in notes or communications; and information reasonably required to assess and arrange financing.

We do not request your Social Insurance Number through the website application. A lender or financing partner may request additional identity or financial information later where necessary.

2. Why We Collect and Use Information

We may use personal information to respond to inquiries; process and evaluate a financing request; communicate with you about your application; identify financing options; help identify vehicles that meet your needs and applicable lender requirements; submit or facilitate applications with financing partners; prevent fraud and verify information; administer and secure the website; comply with legal and regulatory requirements; and maintain appropriate business records.

3. Financing Partners and Other Disclosures

To provide the service you request, we may disclose relevant personal information to participating automotive dealerships, banks, credit unions, finance companies, lenders and other financing partners. We may also use service providers that support website hosting, communications, security, document processing, analytics or other business functions. We limit disclosure to information reasonably necessary for the applicable purpose.

Clear Horizons Auto Solutions is not itself a lender. A lender or other financing partner may have its own privacy policy and may collect additional information directly from you.

4. Credit Information

Where authorized and reasonably necessary to process your financing request, Clear Horizons and/or a participating financing partner may request credit information from a consumer reporting agency. Depending on the inquiry and the party making it, a credit inquiry may affect your credit score. Additional identity verification or consent may be requested before an inquiry is made.

5. Consent

We seek consent appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the purpose for which it is collected, used or disclosed. By submitting an application, you consent to the handling of information for the purposes described in the application authorization and this Policy. You may withdraw consent subject to legal, contractual and operational restrictions; withdrawal may prevent us from continuing to process a financing request.

6. Application Communications

If you submit an inquiry or application, we may contact you by the telephone number, email address or other contact method you provide for purposes related to that inquiry or application. We do not use the application checkbox as consent to unrelated promotional marketing.

7. Website Information and Cookies

Our website and service providers may automatically collect limited technical information such as IP address, browser or device type, pages viewed, referring pages, and similar usage information. Cookies or similar technologies may be used for essential website functions, security, performance and analytics. If advertising or non-essential tracking technologies are introduced, this Policy and the website’s consent mechanisms should be updated as appropriate.

8. Safeguards

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of personal information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Access to personal information should be limited to people and service providers who require it for legitimate business purposes.

9. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and to meet legal, contractual, fraud-prevention and recordkeeping requirements. Information that is no longer required should be securely destroyed, erased or anonymized, subject to applicable requirements.

10. Access and Correction

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

11. Service Providers Outside Your Province or Canada

Some technology or service providers may process or store information in another province or country. Where that occurs, information may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of that jurisdiction. We will use reasonable contractual and security measures appropriate to the information and service involved.

12. Children and Age of Majority

Our financing application is intended for individuals who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence. We do not knowingly solicit financing applications from minors.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as our services, technology or legal obligations change. The current version will be posted on this website with its updated date.

14. Privacy Questions and Requests

Questions, access or correction requests, consent-withdrawal requests and privacy complaints may be directed to our privacy contact at privacy@clearhorizonsautosolutions.ca. General inquiries may be sent to info@clearhorizonsautosolutions.ca.
